Hi Masaru Followed your instructions, but after rebooting I can't start x, I get all sort of messages, I reverted to original xorg.conf, and fixed the sync parameters, but see an improvement on the gears, but the xorginfo still thinks I am using Mesa Masaru Nomiya wrote:

I tried to install 8.42.3 with ATI's x1600 XT card many times, but got same results as you.
Now, I'm using the driver 8.41.7.
What I always did is;
1. rpm -e $(rpm -qa | grep fglrx)
2. sh ./ati-driver-installer-8.41.7-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg SuSE/SUSE102-AMD64
3. rpm -Uvh --force fglrx*.rpm
4. copy 10.2's xorg.conf to /etc/X11 <-- Don't use Sax2!
5. REBOOT
6. login as a usr
7. Yast2 --> Hardware --> keybord (root)
8. just touch setting
9. Click OK buton
10. Sax2 will appear, then "test" nad "save"
11. logout, and login again.
That's all
