Using 9.0 with kde 3.1 I could click on rpms and have yast instal them. Can I regain this facility using kde 3.2 ?
Try with "System Update" module in yast. Before that you have to add additional source of system (also in yast)
I did in this way and there were no problems at all (yes, I lost floppy/dvd icons on desktop - and I have had no time to fix it).I'm happy having new kde.
See archive threads. Just 2-3 weeks ago was all this described.

You just won the most valuable post of the century award! I thought that should be working when I saw the highly structured YaST source, but my efforts to simply 'point' YaST at it through Install and Remove Software->File->import failed, so I reverted to the command line. Perhaps if I had registered the previous and current versions from 5.1 to 9.0 and asked for tech support SuSE would have provided answers. I haven't had a chance to test the updates I applied according to your message, but it worked as per the instructions. To include the bizarre 3 minute delay. There seemed to be no network traffic during that period, and I didn't notice any indication of extensive harddrive activity or other local activity. I'm very happy that feature is working, but I have many question about /how/ it is supposed to work.
