Ok I am puzzled, why does grep fail when I use it in some directories and works fine in others. I don't think this can be a permissions issue because I get the same behavior when I do a - su root and then run this grep command... Here is an example of a failure using a simple grep command - darkstar:/usr/lib/systemd/system # grep run * grep: invalid option -- '.' Usage: grep [OPTION]... PATTERN [FILE]... Try 'grep --help' for more information. If I go to my home directory /home/marc it works fine... This is probably just me being brain dead late at night, but got me beat!
