<AW> BTW, the chipset is Intel H61. Do you have any idea of this chipset for version 11.2?
Why is 11.2 released in 2009 wanted or needed now? 11.2 release date was 15 months prior to H61 release[1]. To expect a chipset to work it should have a release date 4-8 months prior to the release date of an openSUSE release to be installed.
<AW> Is it any opportunity for 11.x version to use H61?
Likely not. 11.4 was only released the same quarter as the H61. Can't you use 12.1? Why not 12.2?
<AW> I need some time to test my program & compatibility. At the moment I have no time to do it.
<AW> One thing that I am curios, Intal has motheboard DH77KC (H77) that release in year 2012. But 11.2 still support it. Really confusing.....
Whatever the problem with H61 is or was, it should have nothing to do with ICH8. ICH8, ICH9 & ICH10 all were released before 11.2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I/O_Controller_Hub Many motherboards come with more than 4 SATA ports. Of those, probably most have one or more SATA ports (often in conjunction with PATA ports since Intel chipsets stopped including PATA ports as of ICH8) on a non-ICH controller chip from JMicron or Marvell or other. Possibly your DVD was connected to a non-ICH controller chip that does not have support in 11.2. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
