it shows up in the installation but when I select /hda11 it gives the error, no installation medium found, if I go to another scree the error says /hda11/:no such device
'cp *' won't copy the dot files which contain the version info. The safe way to do this is:
(cd /cdrom && tar cf - .) | (cd /hda11/suse8.0 && tar xvfp -)
Thanks, I am using that command as I type this to recopy all the files to my harddisk. I also found one of my problems: The actual error message was mount: /dev/hda11:no such device I don't know how to get my current fstab in at boot time, so I waited until the installation was up enough to get to a bash prompt and copied my current fstab to /etc . oh - I had to load the ext3 driver before I could mount my SuSE 7.3 installation /etc directory. After doing this and selecting harddisk it came up and ask me for the directory, added suse8.0 and it loaded the installation. I didn't actually try to install anything yet, but it is looking much more promising. I will know more after I get the 7 cds copied to my /hda11/suse8.0 directory. thanks again for the help. joe
