I simple do man spamassassin. That's what I expect to just work. Not a weird syntax with colons.
Where have you been for the last twenty years? :-) It is the perfectly normal naming for perl modules / extensions.
I'm pretty sure he's not the only one that did not know that, regardless been "been around" time.
Me, I only look at Perl when necessary and do not recall that convention. But then, not everything can be recalled at all times.
