Okay, I know that the folks a SuSE discourage this, but I compiled a new kernel on my SuSE 7.0 firewall. I mainly wanted to strip out the unecessary stuff and reduce the size. The kernel is 2.2.16 and seemed to compile fine without errors. Problem is that when I boot the new kernel I get: Out of memory System halted I've tried this twice with the same result. I've compile kernels on SuSE machines dozens and dozens of times without a hitch. Has anyone experienced similar problems, or have any hints as to something I may have missed? I can post my .config if that will help. TIA.
