I tried to configure my Samba share printer using yast2 on Suse-10, yast2 is not accepting an '@' in my Windows Workgroup password
when i physically go tinker /etc/cups/printers.conf , the printer works, here is the file <DefaultPrinter GL1_Laser> Info Xerox DocuPrint Location near VCs Cabin DeviceURI smb://ITLINFOSYS/digvijoy_chatterjee:dvch1981@@192.168.223.8/GL1_Laser
I think it works only by luck because the '@' is the delimiter between password and server or password and workgroup in the DeviceURI, see "man smbspool". Perhaps '@', '/', and ':' in one of the values of the DeviceURI can be somehow quoted? For example a ' ' is quoted by its hexadecimal value '%20'. Perhaps this works also for other special characters. I would simply use a different password.
