OK .. next two diagnostic ideas.
(1) I reconfigured and found that --with-gconf-exec-prefix=/etc/opt/gnome/gconf does not appear to be essential. Maybe leave it out for now, just to eliminate a variable?
(2) There seem to be three stages of moz detection, I will give my outputs from each :
(a) checking for gtk_moz_embed_get_type in -lgtkembedmoz... yes
(b) checking for Mozilla... yes
(c) checking Mozilla version... 0.9.5
At which of these stages does your configuration fail?
It says: checking for Mozilla... no configure: error: *** Mozilla is required *** A package for is available here: *** http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla/. Something I hadn't noticed before you made me ;-) copy this: *two* spaces after "Mozilla" on the first *** line, and *two* spaces after "for" on the following *** line. That probably means something.... To answer your other question: the directory is /usr/local/galeon-1.0 (not 1.0.1), and the last entry in the ChangeLog mentions changing the version to 1.0; that entry is dated 23 November 2001. If you can make anything of this, I'll be very grateful. -- Tim Kynerd Sundbyberg (småstan i storstan), Sweden tim@tram.nu Sunrise in Stockholm today: 8:39 Sunset in Stockholm today: 14:42 My rail transit photos at http://www.kynerd.nu
