Now to figure out why the input is so hot.
Guessing: Topic of a conversation?
(a bit more details would help to understand in what way is input hot)
Ok, The audio from the mic is at a very high level. I have as controls
"Capture" & "Mux", with both of these at the min setting the audio still is over driven. The headset is a basic type, no mic amp.
My input options are, Mic, Front Mic, Line and am using the Front Mic.
Tnx, Mike.

There is in most mixers a 20dB mice gain switch make sure that is OFF ( definately in Kmix)
Pete .
I do not see that in my Kmix, is there a command line switch I can set, or a file I can edit??
Tnx, Mike.
--- Sent from my Suse Linux Desktop. --- Hi .
SO if you right click in Kmix what happens you should get a window open with a selection of things Device settings below that chanels click o chanels and go down the list there should be a 20dB mic gain switch drag
that
over .
the window that open differs depending on where you click try about middle and by one of the seperator bars that should bring up the correct window
Pete .

That is my biggest problem, I do get the menu with other items I can drag over and adjust, but there is no Mic gain switch there. I thought an update to alsa might fix that but it was no help. I also looked at amixer, alsamixer.
