Hi Per,
I got problem to install OpenSuSE 11.2 into new PC such as DELL OptiFlex or ACER Veriton (using Intel ICH8 SATA or newer ?). It caused OpenSuSE 11.2 has no driver for such Intel SATA Interface.
ICH8 is not exactly new, I'm sure openSUSE 11.2 has drivers for it. <AW> Yes, you are correct. Intel has ICH9 already and version 11.2 had the driver
With OpenSuSE 12.4 installation was very smoothly done. But I have application that not developed yet to run under 12.4 version.
12.2 you mean? <AW> Yes 12.2. Sorry for incorrect version stated
Need advise about latest driver for Intel SATA that I want to install with OpenSuSe 11.2.
Can you describe in more detail the problem you're experiencing? Error messages etc. <AW> Installer just informed that no DVD Drive, as it has no (built in) driver for SATA in the 11.2 DVD media. If I tried to use USB DVD Drive, installer stopped when accessing HDD with exactly same situation (no built in driver). I am sure if I have driver for SATA and put it into the installation progress, problem will solved. Thanks and Regards.
