Aaarg! Frustration^2 here. I just received my LG GSA-4160B, which supposedly reads the following formats: CD-ROM; CD-ROM/XA; CD-I; CD-Extra; CD-RW; CD-Text; CD-DA; Video-CD; CD-R; DVD-RW; DVD-R; DVD+RW; Multisession-CD; DVD-RAM; DVD Dual Layer; Photo-CD; DVD+R; Mixed Mode A friend of mine sent me a DVD in DVD-R format that I cannot read. Another disk he sent me is DVD+R and I can read it. Based on the technical info I have found about my DVD drive, I should be able to read them right? Well, I don't seem to be able to. It could be that I am missing a option in the kernel or I need a specific parameter when I mount the filesystem: mount /dev/dvdram /media/dvdram/ /dev/dvdram: Input/output error mount -t iso9660 /dev/dvdram /media/dvdram/ mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/dvdram, or too many mounted file systems mount -t udf /dev/dvdram /media/dvdram/ mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/dvdram, or too many mounted file systems It is possible that the disk is not readable at all, but since my friend is in the States and I am in Germany, I would like to explore all the possibilities before I have him send me another disk. Any help is greatly appreaciated. Regards, jimmo -- --------------------------------------- "Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation.
