Hi, people. I noticed on SuSE 6.2 that `gdm' exists in `/etc/passwd' without existing in `/etc/shadow'. As this is apparently the sole exception, it might not be normal. I do not know. What is `gdm' for, by the way? :-)
All users in /etc/passwd *should* exist in /etc/shadow, too. (Probably it also works without the shadow entry.) The user gdm is needed by the Gnome Display Manager.
