My apologies - I was just sounding out - to find out if I had something wrong in TBird - Ultimately, I badgered AT&T long enough to fianlly get at the truth - other than "we support email clients and/or Linux" crap.
That's one of the reasons I keep a Windows virtual machine around. If I'm dealing with a support organization that doesn't recognize that people use operating systems other than Windows/OSX, I can test with Windows and Windows apps and tell them I'm seeing the EXACT same thing in Windows. Had to do that with my ISP once upon a time because the DSL modem died and the fact that no lights came on didn't prove it to them. They had to have me tell them that the Windows network configuration wouldn't get an address because, well, let's see - the DAMNED MODEM IS COMPLETELY DEAD. And of course, whether you run Linux, Windows, OSX, BSD, or OS/400, that doesn't change the fact that the DSL modem hardware has failed. ;)
I ask for your understanding - - it is just so DAMN frustrating thinking that - at one time it worked the way I wanted it to.
