Hi Wolfgang, if you did update Firefox while running it? If so this might have been the reason. Did you restart the browser completely and retry? Firefox 68.6.1esr (64-bit) running fine here on openSUSE Leap 15.1 Best wishes Holger On 07.04.20 15:41, Wolfgang Mueller wrote:
Until this morning I ran "Firefox 68.6.1esr (64-bit)" on openSuSE Leap 15.1.
After a software update yesterday night performed by typing "zypper patch", all tabs appeared with this text:
Gah. Your tab just crashed. We can help! ... (complete text at http://ariannuccia.de/images.tmp/tab_crashed.pdf)
It did not help opening a new tab or trying a different URL. Whatever I tried to open, always the same nonsense described above appeared.
So, I downloaded firefox-74.0.1.tar.bz2 to /opt, installed it by typing "tar xjvf firefox-74.0.1.tar.bz2" and replaced /usr/bin/firefox by a symbolic link to /opt/firefox/firefox.
This was very simple and has the advantage that I can now run "Firefox 74.0.1 (64-bit)" instead of the prehistoric version 68.6.1esr supplied by openSuSE.
Best regards, Wolfgang
