Here's the deal, I on "Poky" my smallist system. I want to run "mc" which is on "CW". So I mount CW by NFS then try to run mc. But I get permission denied. How do I tell CW that Poky has full access to the files.
------------ Here's what happened:
Poky:~ # mount /CW/ Poky:~ # cd /CW/usr/bin Poky:/CW/usr/bin # ./mc bash: ./mc: Permission denied Poky:/CW/usr/bin # -------------------------
By default, when accessing files over NFS, user 'root' is mapped to user 'nobody', which could cause your permission denied message. If your security is such that this feasable, edit /etc/exports and add 'no_root_squash' to the end of the appropriate line, eg (from my /etc/exports): /pub 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 (rw,no_root_squash) Hope that helps, Chris -- __ _ -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Chris Reeves /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ICQ# 22219005 _\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\
