OK, Im used to fight during hours for a linux conf (it is my fault, Im a newbie) but this time was amazing. I just installed SuSE 7.1 on my laptop and I was waitting to have some problems with my network card, sound card, DHCP and some other stuffs. Result: Modem is not supported becuase is a software one (I knew that) and DONT KNOW HOW TO GET THE XFREE OR SAX to work with my monitor. The rest was a peace of cake. Everything works properly, it recognize network card and sound card with no prob. at all. Now, I do need some help to get into my GUI, if I run sax from yast is not working and if I do it manually (from the command prompt) I get the following message: Sax: searching card...done Sax: using XF86_SVGA server Sax: if not correct set server manually using the -s option Sax: go up again within 8 seconds [Ctrl-c to abort] Sax: ......... Sax: start new XF_86SVGA server Sax: an error ocurred Sax: for more information please look at: Sax: ~/StartLog and ~/ServerLog WHAT SHOULD I DO?, I HAVE NO THE EXACT CONFIGURATION FOR MY HARDWARE SO THAT WILL NOT HELP TOO MUCH. The installation runs graphical until it make me select the monitor type, resolution and else. After that I couldnt see the botton part of the screen (I finished the instalation guessing cause I couldnt see the butons) but it must be something I can do to fix this. Thnx!!! ===== Ricardo A.
