- Hi listmates!
- thanks A LOT for the e16/e17 info. I've looking a little around to find a replacement for KDE4. Not that I don't like it, but it's not well suited for a server/thin client environment - being heavy and hard to lock down and all.
- perhaps e16 is a good option?
- I simply need to try out e16. So all I do is goto opensuse.org and hit the gray "Create it" and search for e16?
- I go to the one-click install and elect for the 0.16-8 version? Really?
The reason for my posting is that I don't have a spare machine and I'm VERY cautious about messing with this one. As they say: Once burnt child smells bad :-)
Verner, It is very simple and won't mess up your current box. Just use yast and type enlightenment into the search. You want to install 'enlightenment' and 'epplet-base' (enlightenment applet base). Then just exit kde (suse might let you choose enlightenment as a desktop type, if not) exit kdm "ctrl+alt+F1" then just type 'starte16' and enjoy. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
