Thanks Don
It is fixed:-) Files are loaded in /opt. So I placed the files in /usr/lib64/libreoffice/help/en-US and the system appears to work. No Problems noted so far. How does one make this fix generally available to Opensuse/libreoffice users?
it doesn't need to be made available. it is not correct. you were provided the proper solution, but choose to do otherwise. and it may come back to haunt you.
Why do you attack so. I hope this is a friendly list. I did do what you suggested: zypper -v in --force libreoffice-l10n-en
but the files were placed in the /opt/libreoffice directory as I described previously. So I moved them to: /usr/share/libreoffice/help/en-US/
and it works. We are close to saying the same thing, except where zypper put the files.
Don Don, all that Patrick tries to convince you of, is that you're better of using

You now have a bunch of files on your system that do not belong to any package, since they we're copied/moved manually, and hence of which rpm nor zypper are aware. These kind of things can lead to awkward situations, because you break tested integrity of the installed system. My 2 cents? Undo the manual changes, install the openSUSE package and you should be fine, also on future updates. -- Gertjan Lettink a.k.a.
