Hi all,
I know this is off-topic, but does anyone know of a good distro that runs well on a Power Mac 7500? What about G3 chip upgrades? I'd like to find one that is laid out similiar to SuSE if possible. I understand LinuxPPC is closer to RH. Anyone?
I've worked with linuxppc and mklinux. Linuxppc is far superiod, but I found a number of things about it to be very annoying. All deal with it being a very direct port of redhat. Installation is very very nice provided that everything goes well. Fixing problems and reconfiguration are total nightmares, it really makes you appreciate YAST. The documentation is also totally ported. For example, you cannot find *any* on-line documentation about how to make do with your one button Apple mouse. Also, a 2 or 3 button USB mouse that linuxppc will recognize is very hard to find. Most use a later rev of the USB spec. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
