I have a client who's new Leap 42.3 install boots to root rather than <user>. where is that defined and how do I change it?
New Leap with which DM running the show?
Sorta sounds like, if KDE Plasma was his computer role selection,
kde5/plasma5 and sddm (default)
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/SDDM#Autologin got enabled and either no ordinary user exists, so it consequently defaults to root, or some mistake set it explicitly to root.
If Gnome was the computer role selection, then s/SDDM/GDM/ https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GDM#Automatic_login
no, no autologin but subsequent logins (third attempt) was correct, booted to <user> rather than root. I'm attempting to do this remotely. :^) -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
