So your local devices have public IP-addresses? That is an idea from by-gone days. The two-step process could be part of some authentication scheme though.
???? The only reason devices don't get public addresses is due to NAT being used to get around the shortage of IPv4 addresses. I can plug my computer directly into my modem (in bridge mode) and get a public address. In fact, I can do that twice, with each device getting it's own public IPv4 address. On IPv6, my LAN gets a block of 18.4 billion, billion addresses and I can get up to 256 of those blocks. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
