The main reason for me to move towards 11.3 was the complexity to maintain new apps using newer libraries...some of them failed to compile or even run (if installed from a pre-compiled RPM) due to the lack of support, as you said, because Developers always tend to use the bleeding-edge stuff;-)
Can they not leave the server up with all the updates, even if there aren't any new ones? If I want to install 11.0, I'm stuck with whatever comes off the DVD, if I'm not mistaken.
I think you're mistaken, but I don't use the unsupported distros so this is just info, not a recomendation. There are 2 places they keep discontinued oss, non-oss, update repos.. The older set of update repos is at: ftp://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/discontinued/i386/update/ I've forgotten where the newer discontinued ones are, but the 3 main repos are still available for them to. The issue is pacman, nvidia, obs, etc. I don't recall those being available after support ends.
