Let's see if I get this right. Problem is upgrading Opera. Solution: Download the version of opera you want. Right -click it. Choose ""open with" and a couple of choices will come up. Choose Kpackage. If not installed , find it on your CD's and install. Install with Kpackage and uncheck "check dependencies". Opera will work but not the plug-ins. Look in your cd's and install through Yast Openmotiff. Restart your computer and everything should work. However I have turned of the plugins because I found that these are using a lot of my CPU.
Ik hoop dat dit helpt en met vriendelijke groeten
Dutch is such an interesting language. Sometimes it's so close to English that one can read it directly! If you can't make out the above, it says, I believe, "I hope that this helps and with friendly greetings--"

Dear Lists,
This email came to me and me only from what I can see; but it isn't something I know about, so I'm forwarding it here. Perhaps someone who reads the language can help?

Dag Peter,
Suse support wil me niet helpen.
Met vriendelijke groeten,
herman

my
mailserver anymore, but I would like to react.
I just installed Suse 8.1 and wanted to install an upgrade of the operabrowser. But when I want to upgrade my Opera 6.3 browser that is included in the Linux Suse 8.1 pack, I get problems.
I have to install the downloaded .rpm with Yast2, as Kpackage does not
exist
anymore in the latest 8.1 version of Suse Linux.
In Yast2 I get, clicking the the downloaded file in
/home/herman/Documents:
An Opera page 6.11 first, (with on top install button): -->current packages --> writing system configuration -->building linker cache, that's what it does. Then the Yast 2 screen disappears and I get the first mentioned Opera 6.11 page back in screen (with install button on top). But Opera 6.11 is not installed. I tried to upgrade in both the static and the Suse downloaded version.
Here is what xterm says:

I cannot find libXm.so2 anywhere on the installationDVD.
Does anyone know how to get in an easy way the newest version of the Operabrowser in my Linux Suse 8.1 system? I have a similar problem with the newest version of the Netscape browser.
Can anybody help me where to find a thread or more information to this strage behaviour of Suse 8.1?
Thanks...! herman
