I would like to stop sending the dhcpd logmessages to /var/log/messages and send it to another file. What do I put into the syslog.conf file? I looked at the man pages, but could not figure it out.
The servicename is written into the logfile. Then figure out the loglevel. One of the rules must route the dhcpd messages to /var/log/messages. Rewrite "[dhcpt].* /your/new/file" If ther is already a catchall (*.* , or similar) you have to suffix it with "[service].none" Best dan -- ----------------------------------------------------------- ~ WEBDIREKT INTERNET SERVICE GMBH ~ ~ the e-business intelligence company ~ ----------------------------------------------------------- ~ Dieselstr. 5 Fon: (+49) 6173 / 9359-88 ~ ~ D-61476 Kronberg Fax: (+49) 6173 / 9359-59 ~ ~ http://www.webdirekt.de mailto:sysop@webdirekt.de ~ ----------------------------------------------------------- -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
