Could someone give an example of what should be entered in the server and directory space.
In this case, the server name is:
anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk
and the directory is:
/suse/update/10.1/rpm
Note that there is *no* ending "/" after the "rpm". I put that in exactly, and it sill barfed
The TYPE of the new entry when you are about to create one -ie, whether HTTP or FTP for example - is what appears before the "://" at the beginning of the URL name (eg, http://pacman.iu-bremen.de/suse/10.1"). I also on the pull down from the "ADD" tab selected "url", instead of "FTP" ,and pasted in the above pacman url, and its barfed again with "unable to create installation source" BTW the anorien url is valid, this pasted from firefox:- ftp://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/suse/update/10.1/rpm/ which I have tried pasting in as a url without the trailing forward slash. And that fails the same :(
A hint: if you are having trouble with a new entry being accepted (by You for example) then fire up your browser and enter the name manually as an URL. If you don't get to your URL then there is something wrong with its name - it could be as simple as a typo or as "complex" as the URL being removed and replaced by a new server name.
Cheers.
