(Thread hijack initiated)
Anyone else have difficulty using this on boot when the network gets started via DHCP? What I 'think' is happening is that the ntp daemon does not start properly since the network is not yet functional, and never recovers when the DHCP completes. Anyone else have issues with ntp starting properly on boot?
How dare you hijack my - um - the OP's thread. :) I've run across this often. On my laptop, since I'm not always actually attached to a network, I initiate NTP by running a short script which simply has one line... /etc/init.d/ntp start ...and is launched from an icon on my desktop. My desktop system at home has never had an issue, since I think my DHCP lease is several weeks and it picks up the time after KDE starts. -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part
