Had the similar problem earlier with a lacie ethernet mini. But an update of cifs and the firmware on the lacie fixed it. It were probably a smb.conf setting there that were fixed. How does it look from within Konqueror? 'smb://'uses cifs It is a combination of charset used on client and on landisk and possibly mount point.
