I posted this to the KDE list a while ago but the only answer I got was "use CUPS", which I don't want to do since I'm happy with the SuSE print system.
This is fixed in 2.2. You have two options: - - Deal with it until 2.2 goes stable - - Get 2.2alpha2. I'm running 2.2alpha1 on my work laptop without any problems, but I had to rollback my home machine to 2.1.1/2 because my GF had some login problems (the processes kept running away and getting killed by the kernel, but only when she logged in, even when I wiped her config, even when I copied mine over, etc...) I have not tried 2.2alpha2 yet, as I have not had the time, but I'd guess it is a lot more stable.
