My situation is similar to the original posters save I am using SuSE 8 with W2K. When booting W2K I get 0x01 displayed in the top left and nothing else. I hesitate to use Anders suggestion as the lilo command gives the error message below: linux:~ # /sbin/lilo Warning: device 0x0303 exceeds 1024 cylinder limit. Use of the 'lba32' option may help on newer (EDD BIOS) systems. Warning: LINEAR may generate cylinder# above 1023 at boot-time. Fatal: Sector address 34007489 too large for LINEAR (try LBA32 instead). Thoughts? Thanks guys, Bill Anders Johansson wrote:

Hi Guys
Has anyone tried to setup a dual boot with Suse 8 and 'doze XP ? I only get a series of 01's when trying to boot from hda1 (where XP is installed). My boot disk also only has the option to boot the installed system which results in a string of 0's and 1's again.
The "01" means lilo has got the disk geometry wrong. When you boot into linux, try editing /etc/lilo.conf and change "lba32" to "linear" and run /sbin/lilo.
I am then left with the only option to boot off the DVD and go from there.
After downloading the Nvidia drivers off the suse website using yast, I'm not able to use 3D, is there a trick in setting up these drivers as well. My video card is an intergrated Nvidia Geoforce2 board.
No particular trick. What do you get when you run "3Ddiag"? In your /etc/X11/XF86Config, in section "Device" is the option "Driver" nv or nvidia? In section "Module" do you have a line Load "glx"?
What do you get from "ls -l /usr/lib/libGL*"?
