It is not a problem having both versions of java installed, or even more and different version levels. openSUSE has provided "update-alternatives" to allow you to choose your poison.
update-alternatives --config java
will give you choice among the java versions installed.
"real" ?? a misnomer....
Interesting....where is this new feature explained?
new feature ??? It was in 10.1.
Hmmm. thanks for this....but why, then, were there mucho discussions about installing the SUN java last year and/or the year before? For the very first time, with 11.2, do I see in /usr/lib/browser-plugins a symlink to "update-alternatives" (which itself is a symlink)? Never saw it there before. But then my eyesight is not all that crash hot.... :-) BC -- I work to live not live to work. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
