Hello:
I've just realized that my .thumbnails folder occupies 3.3 Gbyte space. I wanted to empty it by: rm .thumbnails/large/*
D=.thumbnails/large rm -rf $D mkdir $D
I just delete the whole directory. It will be made again the next time thumbnails are created. rm -rf ~/.thumbnails. I guess a more robust solution would be to have cron run a script that deletes old thumbnails once the size is over some maximum? Just haven't had a need for that.
