try this:
new string: network.protocol-handler.app.mms
value: /usr/local/bin/gmplayer (of course you can try
opt/kde3/bin/kaffeine also. i do not have kaffeine on my Suse 9.1. i
prefer gmplayer)
new boolean: network.protocol-handler.external.mms
value: true
i tried this on a whim and it works for the site videos you provided
but i do receive this error and i dont know what it means:
Couldn't resolve name for AF_INET6: www.name-of-domain.com (could be a
mplayer error)
but it plays the videos

Hi, everyone. Last fall I wrote to the list asking for help with an error message I was getting when trying to watch videos on the following site: http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/sights/
The message was: "mms not supported protocol."
At the time I was using Mozilla 1.6 and SuSE 9.1, and some of you supplied the following solution:
1) open Mozilla, type about:config and click enter 2) right click on the screen and choose new/string from the menu that appears 3) enter preference: network.protocol-handler.apps.mms 4) in the next screen enter path to Kaffeine: opt/kde3/bin/kaffeine.
That worked great.
However, I just did a clean install of 9.2, did the on-line update using YaST, and I am using Firefox 1.0.
I am getting another error message now that reads: "mms is not a registered protocol." I tried the Mozilla solution shown above but it isn't working. I'm still getting the error message.
Any ideas?
Would appreciate guidance on getting Firefox to play the videos on this site.
Thx Gil
