I have connected a Pinnacle Dazzle DV100 via USB 2.0. The kernel modules all seem to be loaded: em28xx 58072 0 videodev 31236 1 em28xx compat_ioctl32 1104 1 em28xx videobuf_vmalloc 6336 1 em28xx videobuf_core 17564 2 em28xx,videobuf_vmalloc ir_common 39728 1 em28xx tveeprom 11248 1 em28xx i2c_core 29900 6 saa7115,v4l2_common,em28xx, nvidia,i2c_i801,tveeprom ff_memless 7132 1 usbhid usbcore 165892 9 snd_usb_audio,snd_usb_lib,em28xxhci_usb, usbhid,btusb,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd I thought I would try capturing some video with transcode: ~> transcode -i /dev/video0 -o qqq transcode v1.1.0 (C) 2001-2003 Thomas Oestreich, 2003-2009 Transcode Team [transcode] V: auto-probing | /dev/video0 (OK) [transcode] V: import format | (null) in (module=v4l2) [transcode] A: auto-probing | /dev/video0 (OK) [transcode] A: import format | PCM in (module=v4l2) [transcode] V: AV demux/sync | (1) sync AV at initial MPEG sequence [transcode] V: import frame | 352x288 1.22:1 encoded @ UNKNOWN [transcode] V: bits/pixel | 0.710 [transcode] V: decoding fps,frc | 25.000,3 [transcode] V: video format | YUV420 (4:2:0) aka I420 [transcode] A: import format | 0x1 PCM [44100,16,2] [transcode] A: export | disabled [transcode] V: encoding fps,frc | 25.000,3 [transcode] A: bytes per frame | 7056 (7056.000000) [transcode] A: adjustment | 0@1000 [transcode] V: IA32/AMD64 accel | sse3 sse2 sse mmx cmove asm [transcode] warning: no option -y found, option -o ignored, writing to "/dev/null" [transcode] V: video buffer | 10 @ 352x288 [0x2] [transcode] A: audio buffer | 10 @ 44100x2x16 [import_v4l2.so] v1.4.2 (2008-08-04) (video) v4l2 | (audio) pcm [export_null.so] v0.1.2 (2001-08-17) (video) null | (audio) null [import_v4l2.so] critical: OSS_GETVERSION: Invalid argument [transcode] critical: audio import module error: OPEN failed [transcode] critical: failed to open input source The last three lines seem to be the stumbling block. Have I missed something obvious? Or perhaps a different program would be better? The transcode I am using is from Packman, My goal is to digitize some VHS tapes before they go the way of the dinosaur. -- Roger Oberholtzer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
