Hallo, ich habe mir gerade SUSE 6.0 gekauft und nun verzweifle ich an folgendem Problem: Beim Beenden des Windowmanagers stürzt der Rechner komplett ab. Es scheint dass der X-Server wie irr auf die Festplatte schreibt. Die einzige Möglichkeit ist dann der Griff zum Netzschalter. Tritt aber nicht immer auf. Wenn ich den OVWM verwenden will tritt der Effekt schon gleich nach dem Start auf (ohne dass ich irgendwas gestartet hätte) und nach ca.20 Sekunden bleibt sogar der Mauszeiger stehen. Und wieder der Griff zum Netzschalter. Macht auf die Dauer auch keinen Spass. System: MS 6151 Mainboard mit Pentium II 350 ATI 3D Rage Pro on board (verwende Mach64 Treiber) 64 MB Ram Langsam bin ich so weit auf meine alte RedHat umzusteigen. Ich hatte aehnliche Probleme. Der Grund dafuer war die ATI Karte. Vielleicht guggst Du Dir mal Deine /etc/XF86Config an und zwar in der Section Device. Ich musste dort fuer meine ATI Race 3d IIc folgenden Eintrag vornehemen. ChipId 0x4755 ChipRev 0x01 Seit dem hauts einigermassen hin. Achja, in der Supportdatenbank taucht die ATI oefters auf. Seit dem hauts einigermassen hin. Achja, in der Supportdatenbank taucht die ATI oefters auf. Einfach mal nachlesen.
Bringts auch nicht. Superprobe gibt ATI 264GT3 als Karte an. Hab ich auch eingestellt. Und wieder die gleichen Probleme. Unter /proc/pci finde ich den Eintrag ATI MACH 64 GB rev 92. Kann ich jedoch in der Liste der unterstützten Karten nicht finden. Habe auch schon gpm entfernt. Bin ma gespannt was der SUSE Support dazu sagt.
