Unable to get canonical name of client
Hi Dudes , kann mir irgend jemand einen Hinweis geben was "Unable to get canonical name of client" bedeutet ?? Undzwar sehe ich die Meldung wenn ich tail auf /var/log/mail laufen lasse . Auf meinem linux Server lauft Pop3 SMTP DNS ... es tut auch alles was es tun soll aber iher wisst ja wie das ist mit Fehlermeldungen ,man moechte sie einfach nicht haben . Also ein kleiner Tip was das zu Bedeuten hat und vor allem was ich machen muss das die Meldung nicht mehr kommt waere schon sehr nett . Hallo, das bedeutet, dass der dns des providers den cname = cononical name, oder auch nick name des mail servers nicht aufloesen kann. Auf meinem linux Server lauft Pop3 SMTP DNS ...
Ein Programm versucht den Namen eines Clients als "vollstaendigen Namen", also Hostname incl. Domain zu ermitteln und scheitert dabei. In /etc/resolv.conf fehlt der Eintrag der searchlist oder / und in den Records deines DNS ist irgendwo etwas faul.
