Tja, ich steh hier leider vor einem Problem das mich rätseln lässt, und ich
wirklich nur eine grobe Beschreibung geben kann:
Ich versuche ein Wacom Graphire 2 am USB unter SuSE 8.0 zum laufen zu bringen,
ich habe schon die verschiedensten Methoden ausprobiert:
Im Kerner 2.4.18-4GB sind die Treiber eigenlich als Modul gebaut, also einfach
mal rein in den Port. In der /var/log/messages sagt er dann:

Geladene Module laut lsmod sind dann wacom, evdev, hid, input und der Rest des
USB gedöns mit usb-uhci
Fohen Mutes ging es dann daran, den XFree 4 zu konfigurieren, mit SaX2. Das
war leider ein völliges Fiasko, danach ging erst mal gar nichts mehr, auch
die normale Maus nicht. Eingetragen in die Schnittstelle war
/dev/input/event0.
Also als nächstes manuell folgende Einträge in die /etc/X11/XF86config
geschrieben:

Leider kein response, ebensowenig wenn das Device input0 angegeben ist.
Der Gimp erkennt die InputDevices und gibt sie als Auswahlmöglichkeit an, das
war's dann aber auch. Im Log vom XServer ist nichts spezielles zu erkennen.
Im Wacom Howto habe ich dann den Link auf die Wacom USB MiniHowto gefunden,
und die dortigen Modulquellen kompiliert und eingebunden. Leider immer noch
mit dem gleichen Ergebnis.
Eine Suche bei google brachte auch keine neuen Erkenntnisse, also bin ich so
schlau als auch bevor. Auch ein Test mit dem gpm wie im Wacom Howto
beschrieben, hat keine Resultate gebracht, also gehe ich mal davon aus, das
es mit dem USB HotPlugging zu tun hat, aber wie finde ich hier mehr
Informationen, in der Messages und boot.msg / boot.log sieht alles gut aus.

Der Drucker läuft im übrigen prima.
Das Ganze ist ein auf VIA KT133 aufgesetztes Duron System....
und jetzt ist guter Rat teuer....
