Das klingt mir beides auch nicht sehr HW-unterstützt. Bei mir hatte die 2MX400 (damals noch PII400-System, spielt bei gears aber keine Rolle) mit HW-Beschleunigung um die 1700fps. Ich tippe mal daß bei euch noch die SW-Beschleunigung aktiv ist. Einfach mal ins Blaue: schon den Driver auf "nv" umgestellt? Ansonsten mal 3Ddiag aufrufen und schaun was das sagt.
Ich denke es liegt wohl an der Farbtiefe hier. Wann lohnt es sich umzustellen? Für die paar Mal die meine Tochter TuxRacer spielt dürfte doch die Emulation auch reichen, oder?
