Das "NIE" gilt zwar für grub, nicht aber für lilo:
man lilo: [...] -R command line This option sets the default command for the boot loader the next time it executes. The boot loader will then erase this line: this is a once-only command. It is typically used in reboot scripts, just before calling `shutdown -r'. Used without any arguments, it will cancel a lock-ed or fallback command line.
Sollte der neue Kernel nicht booten, wird nach einem Reset der "alte" (default) Kernel gebootet (das setzt natürlich eine entsprechend angepasste lilo.conf voraus).
Und ein Reset sollte auch bei einem Rootserver immer möglich sein...
Aber nur wenn Du entweder nach dem Reboot an die Kiste rankommst (dann gehts auch mit grub; du hast ja Zugriff auf die Kiste und kannst dann auch alles umstellen) oder direkten Zugriff auf die Kiste hast (Reset). Das hilft dir alles nix, wenn die Kiste mit dem neuen Kernel hängt und nicht automatisch resetted. Andreas
