habe mir kürzlich eine openSuse 11.1 gezogen und auf einem Notebook (Athlon 64, 1GB Ram, 80GB HDD) installiert. Das Notebook ist für meine Windows Welt unumgänglich. Daher richte ich es immer so ein, das Grub per Default mit Windows (XP pro) startet. Die Linux Partitionen bestehen aus /dev/sda5 -> / /dev/sda7 -> swap /dev/sda8 -> /home
Hier hab ich mich geirrt, richtig muss es lauten: /dev/sda6 -> swap /dev/sda7 -> /home Das ändert nichts am Problem.
und die Windows Partition ist als /dev/sda1 angelegt.
Also habe ich nach dem Reboot, der auch problemlos mit allen Grub-Einträgen -openSuse 11.1 -failsave -- openSuse 11.1 -Windows
@Christian Meseberg: Die openSuse 11.1 Installation sagt zum Bootloader (grub): Ort: /dev/sda2 (extended) (also nicht die /dev/sda5 als Ort für den MBR) Und hier mal die Inhalte, solange Grub funktioniert: Am Mittwoch, 31. Dezember 2008 schrieb Markus Koßmann:

Dann kann sagen, wo du was anpassen musst.
Gerne! :-) Das sind also die Einstellungen der funktionierenden Konfiguration. Erneut hab ich dann den Fehler produziert, und über den Reparatur-Modus ein Grub-Menu erzeugt.
