AFAIK, you just need to update the trunk/lcn/50-pot/RELEASE-NOTES-openSUSE.pot file in our SVN, and it will be translated by the person in each team adscribed to the task. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. You got me wrong, I don't want to break the current work flow, I just ask for some volunteers so that we are sure that this thing will be covered better and not looking for people in the last minute plus having the release announcement sooner will give people their time to do it without pressure ;-) Also giving the release announcement sooner to people to translate will have as a result to have the Release announcement published all over the world in every language at the first day that 12.1 will be out so that the users that do not speak English won't have to wait more days to read it, treating all users equal.

I am not suggesting to look for people in the last minute, you are already in the right place to find translators. But the thing is that all translators reading this list are already volunteers, there's no need to call them up separately, cause they are here anyway. And their names are known here: if you have some openSUSE text to translate, Carlos will stand up for Spanish, Andrea for Italian, , I'll stand up for Russian and so on. All you need to do is provide us with the needed pot-file. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-translation+owner@opensuse.org

Ok, you are probably right, I just want to know in what languages we can translate so that I look elsewhere for people to translate just this text for languages that people on that list may not cover ;-) This is just a marketing announcement, wouldn't be better and easier to just publish here the text file? Ok, but for the next time just do it the way we do the release notes, via a pot file, so that it doesn't break the workflow. Since it has to be fully translated anyway in a short time, I think attaching a text file would be OK.
Ok, but for the next time just do it the way we do the release notes, via a pot file, so that it doesn't break the workflow. Just put it there and we will translate it as we do all the texts.

Hey I forgot to mention the most important stuff :s The Document will be ready about a week before the release so keep an eye here around 8-9 of November, in the 16th(day of the release) everyone of us will have the announcement ready so that we can blog it or give it to local Press or do what ever we can think with it in order to promote 12.1, In the 'original'(English) announcement we will have links to the translated Announcements. I am thinking in making a wiki page with all the translations and link there, so that it will be available to anyone, although if someone has another idea please feel free to tell me about it. 2011/10/31 Nelson Marques <nmo.marques@gmail.com>:

I think that it is useful if you already make available the current version of the document pointing out the parts that can be considered stable. So we have more time for translation.
Carlos I think it will be a plain text or an .odt let me know what suits you best(if you have a preference) and I will send it that way ;-)
As someone wrote in some message in this thread, usually we work with PO files: sentences are (usually) quite short and it is simple to highlight changes in sentences as well as to merge new/modified strings. If you use a plain text, this is not so easy while with an odt you can simulate it using background color or text style but there is still a problem with the merging of new strings. Unfortunately there are no stable parts, I tried to push a bit around about that but it is almost impossible to have that, anyway it won't be a long text anyway, I estimate it will not be bigger than 2-3 pages so I think and hope that a week will be enough for all of us ;-)
