Well, I'd like to veto this merge for ru. I was never happy with SLE translation quality for Russian, so I would better re-check and cherry-pick something manually. 2014-09-15 14:54 GMT+04:00 Karl Eichwalder <ke@suse.de>:

Same for 'es'. I'm not the Spanish coordinator, we officially do not have one although Gabriel usually fills that role. But as I believe I'm the oldest team member active, and till he speak or if he does, I'll speak for all (unless somebody else talks): I'm strongly against automatic full merge with SLE translations. This has been our posture on other occasions, too. The reason is not only quality, but that the translations are different, with choices against our (written) team policies. I would like, though, to have a tree somewhere where we could download them and, somehow, configure "localize" to load both and choose, or for individual translators to merge if they so decide for the files they are responsible for. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. Ok. These Russian files are probably not that affected, because they are completely translated in trunk :-) BTW, it is worth checking SLE translations from time to time again, because we (Novell) often base translation updates on community translations resp. take them as input. If it makes sense we change old SLE translations. "Carlos E. R." <carlos.e.r@opensuse.org> writes:

The sooner the better. Probably end of this or early next week. Of course, if it does not match your expectation you could revert it.
Czech is not complete either; thus I'd appreciate, too, if you could work on it. For those who vetoed I'll just fill missing translations from the SLE12 branch. Hi, Don't use the translations for pt_BR too. Why on Factory the translations used (at least for zypper) are the SLE12 ones instead of the ones in trunk? If you do that, I will have to undo it on my files. Otherwise, I'd have to manually check every string to locate which are the strings imported from SLES. Setting them just to would not help that much for what we (SUSE) want to achieve. I now propose to do the following (for snapper, zypp, and zypper only): 1/ I'll not touch translated strings. 2/ I'll flag strings added from the SLE12 branch with a special comment: #. Why the hurry? According to the official timetable: +++····················· openSUSE 13.2 translation finish Milestone: Last fixes for localization found during testing incorporated. Milestone: Drop of Release Notes to Localization Thu, 30 Oct 2014 14:00:00 GMT ·····················++- So we have a month to fully translate the files. And those you are interested in (es): snapper one single string non translated zypp it is not in the yast directory, but it is 98% done. zypper 90% done. You could delay the merge from SLES till that date, and leave us time to work.
I now propose to do the following (for snapper, zypp, and zypper only):
1/ I'll not touch translated strings.
2/ I'll flag strings added from the SLE12 branch with a special comment:
#. SLE12

I'll treat all languages the same.
You can do that 30 Oct 2014. If you do it now, the "go to next not ready string" in lokalize would not work, and you would also overwrite our previous fuzzy string if they existed. Forcing the SLES translations on us makes me feel my work is not wanted/appreciated. I may then simply take a backup from older translations and overwrite what you do... - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Yeah, but this time I'm concerned about SLE 12, and the "problem" is that we are packaging snapper/libstorage translations for SLE 12 from trunk (AKA from openSUSE:Factory). From one POV that's rather unfortunate, but that's the way it is. If you are insterested in the details, see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=877325 ;) And yes, after closer checking only libstorage (and snapper) seem to be affected. I'll not touch zypp and zypper.

It's easy to set these messages to fuzzy after we picked them up for SLE 12 and before you start working on them. For example, with (might look complicate, but is just a simple sed action): sed -i '/^# SLE12/a\ #, fuzzy ' libstorage.*.po I will happily do this for you. I'll better go for "# SLE12" as a marker than "#. SLE12". -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-translation+owner@opensuse.org

I have a headache. I've been to the dentist this afternoon, and the anaesthetic hasn't cleared yet fully. So I'm a bit foggy and can't understand this well. I will have a read at the bugzilla later - huh, no, I guess I will not, it is not public, I'm denied access. No, it is a one-time-action. Then, if it help, I can easily add a fuzzy marker to the "# SLE12" marked messages. Or you can do it yourself before you actually start working on it.

Hi, Can you say some words about SUSE 12 localization to officially unsupported languages, like Lithuanian? That's a good hint. For SLE 12 (SP1) I'll try to remember to update the unsupported languages (yast) with the 13.x community translations. The unsupported languages (yast) are currently on the 13.1 level.
