[opensuse-translation] New Language (Esperanto)
Hi, I'm from Brazil and I'd like to use openSUSE in Esperanto. It's not available yet so I ask you to make it possible. Nowadays the Esperanto translations inside the GNOME project<http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/eo/>are quite significant. If you have no idea what language it is, you can find out here<http://esperantois.blogspot.com.br/> . Necessary data according to Localization Guide<http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Localization_guide> : Name: Diego Souza Language: Esperanto (eo) SVN account: I don't have it yet Contact: diegosouza.br@gmail.com What else? I'm waiting for the next steps. I do. An uncle of mine spoke it.
What else? I'm waiting for the next steps.
Are you volunteering to do the translation? That's all that is needed :-) Well, that, an account, and the empty language to be created by the admins. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Perfect Carlos Over here we have a great team of esperanto students that are evaluating to use and help openSUSE Project, so they will be able to keep theirs language studies, learn a little bit about our openSUSE ecosystem, projects and in the future, I would like to help them to create a kind of a "Esperanto Live System" using Studio to build, with all needed to learn and pratice esperanto installed and ready to be used. best "geeko" regards CarlosRibeiro 2012/5/1 Carlos E. Hi Diego, including Esperanto shouldn't be a problem, as long as someone translates it to Esperanto ;-) Are you volunteering? Then please send the login credentials you wish for your svn account to Daniel at jdsn@suse.de (see attached file) and explain to him that you are a new translator for Esperanto, maybe Karl can create the necessary files? Are you in general familiar with translating .po files? Regards, Michael
Hi, And don't forget that openSUSE in Esperanto means that other upstream projects are translated in Esperanto too (like GNOME, KDE, etc) as we basically translate YaST and some cli programs where openSUSE is the upstream. Yes, that's the way to go. Did you both send your credential to Daniel? Once this is done, I will initialize the translation files for Esperanto. -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-translation+owner@opensuse.org

I just initialized the Esperanto yast files; once your accounts are ready, you can submit to the opensuse.org SVN: https://svn.opensuse.org/svn/opensuse-i18n/trunk/yast/eo/po Please, start with files such as base.eo.po and installation.eo.po. When 2 or 3 files are done, notify me; then I'll build a test package. In case of trouble, please ask here on the list. -- Karl Eichwalder SUSE LINUX Products GmbH R&D / Documentation Maxfeldstraße 5 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-translation+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-translation+owner@opensuse.org

You did not clearly say if you are volunteering to do the translation. If you are, then the next step is you getting an account in the svn, and the empty language to be created, waiting for you to start work. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Buenas Carlos, To be more clear, the point is that me and Diego already have our hands up to be volunteer and help with esperanto localization for openSUSE. I'm not sure about what id Diergo wishes to use for the svn account, for me I would like to use my regular openSUSE account "CarlosRibeiro" Also I don't know how to work and use po files, but I have a quickly idea who its works. If does you have any quickly step-by-step on who to work with, will be very helpful. Thanks for while Best regards CarlosRibeiro 2012/5/14 Carlos E. R. <carlos.e.r@opensuse.org>:

Carlos, thanks a lot for your help. I already sent a message to Daniel with my svn key attached, also I start to study and be familiar with svn workflow following the links you showed previously, while I'm waiting for his feedback. 2012/5/14 Carlos E. R. <robin.listas@telefonica.net>:
