Hallo. I have prepared a very special pot file for gnome-packagegit for both upstream and openSUSE version: http://pack.suse.cz/sbrabec/gnome-packagekit/gnome-packagekit.pot Strings marked as openSUSE/ are in the current openSUSE version, strings marked trunk/ are just now in SVN. It you will translate only openSUSE/ strings, openSUSE will be complete. Translating of trunk/ strings is an investment for the future. If you will consider this approach useful, it is possible to automatize generating of such files (see below). Comparing the difference, some of openSUSE specific strings were apparent mistakes: Internal strings, don't translate: "gtk-about" "gtk-help" "gtk-quit" String "Some updates were not updated" should be translated as "Some updates were not installed", as it was fixed in upstream. It is trivial to make such pot file on your own and even make a tool doing this automatically: tar -jxf gnome-packagekit-0.2.0.tar.bz2 svn co http://svn.gnome.org/svn/gnome-packagekit cd gnome-packagekit-0.2.0/po intltool-update --pot sed -i '/^#:/s: ../: openSUSE/:g' *.pot cd ../../gnome-packagekit/trunk/po intltool-update --pot sed -i '/^#:/s: ../: trunk/:g' *.pot cd ../../.. msgcat gnome-packagekit-0.2.0/po/gnome-packagekit.pot gnome-packagekit/trunk/po/gnome-packagekit.pot -o gnome-packagekit.pot (Minor note: If minute differs, you will get initial message twice.
