Other than suffering from bug 707110, the GNOME LiveCD is looking
pretty good so far. If I can clear out my 50 GB test partition I may
do an install and try to get the proprietary NVidia driver to work, or
at least patch around the bug enough to get GNOME 3 out of fallback
mode.
Anybody tested this on an ASUS U46E-BAL5? My old laptop may have died
and I'm looking at the ASUS.

additionally, openQA still shows a random bootloader-configuration bug with RAID installs (cause is known), syslogd is not starting on non-gdm systems (fix in queue),
and when I tested on physical machines, I needed the nomodeset option on two machines with NVidia graphics to get into X11, so I updated it on the most-annoying list.
Next on schedule is the openSUSE 12.1-Beta on 2011-09-22. I upgraded both of my notebooks to Factory now and will upgrade again, whenever openQA shows good results. This is to find bugs early, so that our one and only Beta has a good chance to not just be usable, but maybe even be smooth, enabling other testers to try their favorite programs on it.
After the RCs (2011-10-13) it will be too late to fix smaller bugs. This is why now it would be nice to see people use Factory-tested (or even Factory, if you know how to unbreak a Linux system and do not mind some extra bumps on the road).
