[opensuse-support] Network on Realtek RTL8125 not working
Ha, Today my son's new Gigabyte Aorus motherboard, with AMD Ryzen 5900 CPU, arrived. Pushing Leap 15.2 on it was a no-brainer, except for the networking interface. The board has a Realtek RTL8125, which is - I did some googling - not supported by the installed kernel (5.3). In 5.9 it should be, I read (https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/540275-How-to-get-ethernet-workin...; which discusses the situation with Tumbleweed). Is it possible to get that kernel for Leap 15.2, and if so, where do I find that? Or another kernel for Leap, which supports this chip? I see https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Sauerland:/hardware/openSUS... Would that one be safe to install, and to get things working? If not, I understand that I have to build my own kernel, something I've never done before. So I would think I run in some difficulties on that road. Any advice appreciated! regards, Jogchum
