Thunderbird characters size not adjustable
Hello, Somebody could tell me if I have any chance to adjust Inbox messages characters size whose source contains: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Messages coming sent with the above format are not adjustable in characters size by Thunderbird: they stay the same and too small for reading. I say this because if the format of source message is different, as for example: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="windows-1252"; format="flowed" Content-Language: en-US Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Then the size of the characters size is adjustable and adequate for an optimal reading. I remember this is a very old problem of Thundebird I faced from the very beginning many years ago. Yes, This is working for me as well but it is not practical to use the CTRL-Zoom in my opinion. I would like to have a fixed option valid for all the messages view in the Thunderbird main pane, independently of their encoding. Also if you know how to get into the about:config option in Tbird, and look for the value of "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx", (I see it as a string value), then changing that value from the default of -1 (or 1) to values like 1.1 or 1.2 should give about a 10 or 20% size increase across your entire UI.

This is a generic zoom operation that works within most applications, try it with konsole for fun. Super-handy when you have the wrong glasses perched on your head and can't find the right ones chained around your neck - so I've been told ;-) Daniel

I see some signs: +, -, |, > and the phrase Ascii Drawing. I don't care about "recommendations" regarding mailing list because they are not representing my focus. I want to be able to read the email in same way, independtly if HTML or pure text without to get boring to do Ctrl something to zoom in just on mailing list too small fonts. To be more detailed Carlos, With fixed fonts disabled the Ascii drawing results imperfect (not linear) but it is still quietly viewable. Regards, Marco

Confusion. Thanks for noticing... (yes, you also noticed the "1" oops.
