-1 means to use the OS default. If your OS uses 96DPI (windows default, unsized), then '1' or '1.0' should look about the same. You'd have to use 1.1 (110%) or 1.2 (120%) to get a magnification effect > 1.0 (100%). The magnification is applied to all elements, not just text, so it's really for enlarging the entire UI when you have a higher DPI display.
