[opensuse-support] 182 coredumps since yesterday

Hi This is only for the last 2 days. I've not monitored /var/lib/systemd/coredumps and i've never removed any coredump files manually so i can't say if its just started happening. This is a list of the coredumps: drkonqi, gst-plugin-scan, kactivitymanage, kdeconnectd, kded5, kdialog, kdialog_progres, kglobalaccel5, kioslave5, klauncher, kscreen_backend, plasmashell, qdbus, sddm-greeter. I had an issue with "qdbus" no longer working in my backup script since 5.19 so that may account for a few of them. i've now updated my backup stript to use "qdbus-qt5" now so i'll see if reduces creating coredumps. Anyone else having this issue? regards Ian -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20200610 Qt: 5.15.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.70.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.19.0 - kwin 5.19.0 kmail2 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - akonadiserver 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - Kernel: 5.6.14-1-default - xf86-video-nouveau: 1.0.16 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

By default, they last a week. Just run the command "coredumpctl" in a terminal as root to see them. Telcontar:~ # coredumpctl TIME PID UID GID SIG COREFILE EXE Thu 2020-06-11 11:00:16 CEST 4473 1000 100 11 present /usr/bin/xfdesktop Thu 2020-06-11 11:00:16 CEST 18478 1000 100 11 present /usr/bin/xfce4-appfinder Thu 2020-06-11 11:00:53 CEST 10118 1000 100 11 present /usr/bin/xfdesktop Thu 2020-06-11 11:02:29 CEST 10485 1000 100 11 present /usr/bin/xfdesktop Telcontar:~ # If you notice, the timestamps are close; I think they happened during an update, which appears to be "normal". Confirmed, I rebooted on 2020-06-11 11:25:48.

You have variety :-)

You have not said what version of openSUSE you are using. Mine is with Leap 15.1, and xfce desktop. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

In the other thread Ian posted Wolfgang Bauer already said that this might be related to a ksysguard bug that is fixed in the next TW snapshot. Do you have extra repos?
i've got a few apart from OSS, non-oss and update/tumbleweed :- KDE Extra, Libreoffice, vlc, packman, vivaldi-beta
Do you only use "zypper dup" to update? Yes.
i'm hoping the next tw update may cure all. There seem to be a few people with "end of session" issues that have logged bugs, mine has been mark as a duplicate even though the sequence of events is different to mine.
