[opensuse-support] Logout/Lock widget no longer works as it used to
Hi Since upgrade to tumbleweed:20200609, this widget is behaving completely different. I used to click the logout "button" and it would go straight into the logout process. Now it gives me a screen with choices of "Sleep Hibernate Restart Shutdown Log Out" with "Shutdown" on a 30 second timer as the default selection. Anyone know how i can get it back to the "old" way? I can't remember the name of its config file either, i remember having to edit it to stop the logout asking for confirmation. regards Ian -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20200609 Qt: 5.15.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.70.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.19.0 - kwin 5.19.0 kmail2 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - akonadiserver 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - Kernel: 5.6.14-1-default - xf86-video-nouveau: 1.0.16 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

PS: i forgot to add that I found the config in SystemSettings and removed the "Restart and Shutdown" options on the new screen but it still defaults to "shutting down within 30 seconds" even though its no longer an option. -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20200609 Qt: 5.15.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.70.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.19.0 - kwin 5.19.0 kmail2 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - akonadiserver 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - Kernel: 5.6.14-1-default - xf86-video-nouveau: 1.0.16 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Ian Ian, did you try if the issue exists for a newly created test user?

No, i haven't. i'll try that now -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20200610 Qt: 5.15.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.70.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.19.0 - kwin 5.19.0 kmail2 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - akonadiserver 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - Kernel: 5.6.14-1-default - xf86-video-nouveau: 1.0.16 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Unfortunately a new user made no difference to the logout process -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20200610 Qt: 5.15.0 KDE Frameworks: 5.70.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.19.0 - kwin 5.19.0 kmail2 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - akonadiserver 5.14.1 (20.04.0) - Kernel: 5.6.14-1-default - xf86-video-nouveau: 1.0.16 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Unfortunately a new user made no difference to the logout process Mmm. Can you rollback to a previous btrfs snapshot?
If not, you can consider installing tumbleweed-cli, then run tumbleweed --help and go back to a previous tumbleweed snapshot. FWIW, everything's fine on my laptop running Plasma 5.19, but no nvidia ( and hence nouveau involved. FWIW2: I just checked /var/lib/systemd/coredump and it's empty. Don't see any kdeinit5 crashes either. -- Gertjan Lettink a.k.a. i'm not using btrfs.

I can live with the problem, hopefully someone else will confirm it and sort it.
